Are there things God might be asking you to do, but you are turning a deaf ear because you are afraid?
Fear is not of God; therefore, you know where fear is coming from. Fear cripples, paralyzes, hinders. Fear is an enemy of God’s will.
God emboldens. God gives courage. God gives strength. God gives all wisdom.
For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. (I John 4:18)
The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion. (Proverbs 28:1)
If God is calling you to do something, He will equip you to do it. When God calls us to do something, He calls us to do it in His strength, not our own. He calls us to dwell in Him. He is our refuge and our fortress and our high tower. He delivers us from the wicked and saves us. He loves us with an everlasting love. He will never leave us nor forsake us.
When we are following where God leads us, He opens the doors that need to be opened. He closes the doors that need to be closed. God gives grace and favor. God grants us His wisdom to do His will. God grants us His strength to do His will. God calls us to walk in His power, not our own.
Jesus says, Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing. (John 15:4, 5)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)
Don’t hold back out of fear that you are not good enough. Do what God is calling you to do. Walk in faith. Go where God leads you. Trust God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
For you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: that, according as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord. (I Corinthians 1:27-31)
Go where God leads. Trust Him. To God be the glory in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
