In 2 Chronicles we have a record of the kings of Judah and Israel, and there is a very strong pattern of connection between the events of the countries and the integrity of the kings at the time. When the king served God and did that which was right and just and good, the country grew and the people prospered. When the king turned his back on God and did wickedly, the country found itself being attacked by other countries and losing wars, the people suffering and being taken captive.
I believe the same is true today. Let us pray for godly leaders that will bring blessings upon our country. Let us who have the freedom and privilege to vote exercise that freedom by paying attention and voting for the leaders who will lead our country in an upright, godly way. Let us pray for those who currently are our leaders, that they will turn to God and seek to please Him. Let us pray that our leaders stand strong upon what is just and right and good, bringing God’s blessings upon us. We want what is best for us and for our children. We desperately need God’s blessing and protection and provision.
