As we seek the truth, God reveals it to us.
To help us discern truth from error, God provides His word, the Bible. In the Bible, we learn about Jesus, foretold throughout the Old Testament and come in the flesh in the New Testament. Jesus lived the truth; Jesus is the truth; Jesus is the Word of God made flesh.
There are some people who are deceived. God tells us that people are deceived because they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved. God tells us that they believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)
The truth is revealed to us even in nature, but if people reject the truth because they would rather have it their own way, they end up being deceived, given over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient, being filled with all unrighteousness. When they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. (Romans 1:18-32)
God is calling those who have been deceived back to Him. The way out of being deceived is to repent and turn to God. Turn away from the old, wicked ways, and turn to God. Repentance clears the way for the truth to be seen. (2 Timothy 2:25-26)
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. I John 2:15-17
Repent, that Jesus may remove the blinders–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–that you may see and know the truth. Jesus heals the blind. Be delivered from the spiritual darkness that has enslaved you. Come to Jesus and be saved. Amen.
