Peaceful Snow

Thank you, Lord, for the snow.  Thank you for this restful, peaceful day you have given me.  Thank you for the time to go for a walk in this white beauty.  Thank you that it was warm enough to be enjoyable for me.

What is it about the falling snow that is so peaceful?  It is white, pure, gentle, coats everything it touches with pure white.  Many times during my walk, I stopped and listened to the falling snow landing on the trees and ground.  So peaceful.  What makes it so peaceful?  You, Lord, of course.  You make it peaceful.  You created us and you make it so the snow can convey peace to us.  I stood and looked across a field, the air blurry with the snowfall, the stillness of the trees while they were being blanketed with snow, and you touched my soul with that in such a way that I experienced peace.

That peace is a part of who you are, Lord, and it emanates from what you make.  You make us in your image, therefore we are able to sense it, to experience a taste of the peace that is you.

Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful day.  It’s been altogether lovely.  You are altogether lovely, Lord.  Thank you for loving us fully, Father.  Thank you for the rest and refreshing you give to us.  Thank you for Jesus.  Thank you for your Holy Spirit.

Thank you for this peace that passes understanding.  Thank you that we don’t have to live according to the flesh anymore, but we can walk in the Spirit with Jesus.  Thank you that all that is fleshly is temporal, and fades away into nothing.  Thank you that what is spiritual is eternal.  Thank you that when we lay up treasures in heaven, they never fade, they can never be stolen, they never rust, they never deteriorate, but become ever more valuable, ever more beautiful.

Thank you, Father, for your perfect ways.  Thank you for knowing us completely, and loving us completely, with an everlasting love.  Thank you that you will never leave us nor forsake us.  Thank you that you are always with us.  Thank you that you take care of us.  Thank you that you provide all of our needs for us.  Thank you for lifting our burdens, and telling us to rest.  Thank you for the deep love you whisper into our hearts.

Thank you for purifying us.  Thank you for perfecting us.  Thank you for blessing us always.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
